Final Individual CD
Course Ref.
This was a very useful course because it enhanced my
understanding of cultures diversity. I would have known about these issues
without these classes. I particularly enjoyed the classes that had group
presentations about ethnocentrism & that talking about the UAE’s cosmopolitan
culture. I also liked the one about power distance. It is important for
students to know about the cultures, so that can respond to the different nationalities
that they enjoy. I think that the earlier that people experience other cultures
the better but this has to be a positive experience.
The most interesting thing I learned was has different
cultures respond different ways in general terms to different situations. If
the UAE had a harmony day a good date to pick would be the 3rd
December so it would be continues celebration after National day. This would be
an inclusive event. This could be celebration by allowing staff to wear the
national custom at work.
Therefore, this was a great opportunity by learn about other
cultures and to understand their idiosyncrasies.
